Our Teams

The Choir Director is responsible for:

• Considering the broader objectives of the ensemble and setting goals
• Running weekly choir rehearsals
• Conducting performances
• Attending special events, tours, trainings
• Running special rehearsals when needed
• Providing support to Section Leaders when needed
• Selecting and purchasing repertoire
• Preparing music and resources for rehearsal and performance, including guest accompanists
• Creating learning recordings for choir members 
• Organisational representative in wider networks and events

The Assistant Director is responsible for:

• Assisting CD in performance of duties
• Maintaining and distributing uniforms and choir folders
• Assisting CD in choir formation plan and giving directions
• Assisting where needed in organisational tasks, eg fundraising operations, setting up chairs, purchase and storage of equipment, community suppers, etc.
• Any other details as assigned by CD
• Chairing committee meetings

The Secretary is responsible for:

• Keeping an accurate record of committee meetings
• Keeping membership database current
• Keeping an accurate record of rehearsal attendances
• Communicating relevant announcements at weekly rehearsals
• Choir comms via email (updates, newsletters) and Muzodo (performance requests)
• Calling committee and special choir meetings, and creating agenda
• Compiling and publishing annual report (end of each calendar year)
• Acknowledging 5-year and 10-year members
• Consultation with choir members and seeking feedback where necessary 
• Writing and submitting grant applications and acquittals, with assistance from (ad-hoc) subcommittee
• Preparing content for Mailchimp communication, sent personally or via web officer (updates, newsletters)

The Treasurer is responsible for:

• Keeping record of finances
• Recording and issuing membership payment receipts
• Maintaining annual budget in conjunction with President
• Paying bills (incl liaising with rehearsal venue)
• Periodic reporting (committee meetings, special events, annual report)Responsible for:

LIBRARIAN

The Librarian is responsible for:

• Facilitation of repertoire – distribution, recall, replacing missing music
• Copying music when needed
• Maintaining the music library (Google Drive)
• Assisting where needed in organisational tasks, eg fundraising operations, setting up chairs, purchase and storage of equipment, community suppers, etc.

The Events Coordinator is responsible for coordination of small Events team (2-3 people) to carry out the following duties:

• Overseeing annual event calendar in conjunction with directors, including performances, fundraisers, choir functions, workshops, tours, guests, etc.
• Liaising with CD for advance-planning of repertoire
• Sourcing appropriate venues, including equipment needed for each venue
• Hiring venues (organising times, hire fees, deposits, risk assessments) and acting as the direct contact with venue staff prior to events
• Seeking fundraising opportunities
• Managing event publicity (promotional materials and ticketing)
• Liaising with Secretary regarding member comms (dates, call times)
• Facilitating volunteer roles for each performance (front of house, pack up, tea and coffee, etc)
• Administrative duties relating to events, eg creating itineraries, booking transport, organising refreshments, supplying COVID plans / certificate of currency to venues

The Tech Officer is responsible for:

• Overseeing the choir website and ensuring currency, functionality and brand consistency
• Creating and publicising events, in conjunction with E&P Coordinator
• Creating quality social media content – photos, video, posts, shares, events
• Providing technical support to Secretary, CD and choir members (eg live-streaming, accessing materials)
• Taking photos or organising ad-hoc photographer
• Storage and maintenance of camera kit (batteries, SD card, tripod)
